Unit History

The 4th Infantry Division was formed on the 30th November, 2008 by Jesse Mrasek with the premise of creating one of the most respectable units in the realism community. The ideas and principles behind the 4th are based upon fair and just decisions of the Command staff, to eradicate inequity within the unit, to give the best realism experience to our members, and to promote the realism community while inspiring personal growth within our members.

The following people helped create the 4th ID, and are its founding members:

What We Are About

The 4th Infantry Division is an American realism unit for Day of Defeat: Source. A realism unit involves a command structure and respect. We attempt to recreate a military feel and experience for the time, whilst upholding the greatest respect for those who fought and died during WWII. As a realism unit we often host and take part in “realisms” which you will be able to find out about in our forums.

As a realism unit we also use ranks, we try and keep these as close to the WWII military structure as possible. We respect ranks higher to our own, this helps us recreate a military feel. With ranks comes a chain of command which is replicated to help run programmes and services within the unit. Ranks also allow for promotions, these are earned by helping the unit achieve its potential.

A realism unit is built on respect and the competence of the commanding staff. All of our members not only show respect to the NCOs and Officers of our unit, but to the pubbers who use our server as well. As a realism unit we run regular unit drills as well as hold both a Basic Combat Training (BCT) programme, which you need to complete to join us, and Advanced Infantry Training (AIT) programme, which will help you hone your talents in-game.

Our goal is to provide our members with a realistic experience whilst ultimately providing a fun and enjoyable variation of Day of Defeat: Source.
